Marcus Norris’ extremely long term goal is to be mentioned when the future music scholars define the term “21st Century African American Composers”. Thinking a little more short term, he is obsessed with genre blending. He wants to introduce elements from classical, jazz, and other genres into music that will remain accessible to mainstream listeners. It will be music that doesn’t ONLY appeal to the scholars, but DOES appeal to the scholars. He’s currently attending Columbia College Chicago as a Music Composition Major, where he transferred after earning his Associate Degree in Music Recording Technology at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan. Being a part of Schoolcraft's "Synthesizer Ensemble" and "iPad Band" were notable favorite musical projects for him.. He not only performed with the experimental group, but was also given the opportunity to compose. At 20 years old, he’s trying to find his voice as a composer and producer, and absorbing all the music he can.

"Flame On" was a Hip Hop and RnB album I released independently back on February 14th, 2010. I was 18 and it was my first solo project. I did all of the production, recording, and engineering myself. I even designed my own cover art work.

You can download it here FREE! It may not represent who I am artistically and musically now, but you can play definitely it until my new project is done.
